Philippe Hassel, then Communication Director of April Group, had the bold idea of wanting to restore the image of his profession as an insurer, and embarked with us on the production of an interactive cartoon designed to explain to children the principle of the insurance business.
The film for April Group
An unprecedented innovation in online cartoons
As discussions with our studio progressed, April Group’s project grew in scope, and the result was a particularly ambitious cartoon — in its length, its complexity and its degree of innovation.
For the first time (this was 2001!), the viewer was able to choose the profession of the cartoon’s hero, whether it was a girl or a boy, and could also determine, at will, the character’s entire visual appearance.
A genuine feat of production, and a spectacular example of what makes online communication so specific.
In its original Flash version, the April Group cartoon was thus fully interactive and personalizable. Now that the Flash plugin has vanished from the face of the Web, we offer at the top of this page the cartoon in a non-personalizable version, compatible with all modern devices…
A high degree of personalization and interactivity
The interface for personalizing the child’s avatar in the cartoon.
The quiz testing understanding of the accident-report principle, halfway through the cartoon.
