“Le Lézard” (“The Lizard”) is a cartoon screened during creative workshops for children aged 5 to 10. It comes with its adaptation in comic-book form.
The film “Le Lézard”
Imagined by Pascal Adam, a Belgian trainer and facilitator, these creative workshops aim to stimulate creativity through small games of writing, thinking and dexterity, starting from the situations set up in the cartoon.
Through questions, the children are invited to create the identity of the various characters, where they come from, and what becomes of them within the theme of the cartoon.
A film offered to children’s imagination and thinking
The animation entrusted to 3TOON resulted in a very colorful, dreamlike cartoon which, above all, only takes on its full meaning when presented by the teacher to an audience of children.
The comic-book adaptation
The 8-page comic book (in French), handed out to the children in paper form, provides an opportunity to structure the sequence of events, by putting in order a series of images related to the theme of nature and animals.
Among the other educational goals are these various tasks:
- Identify the various characters and briefly present their actions.
- Create a timeline of the events discovered in the comic book.
- Answer two questions, among those given:
- Why does the lizard settle by the seaside?
- What will the Lizard do after hiding in the woodpile, once the lion has left?
- Will the Lizard meet other characters on his way? Who, and where?
- Choose a character from the comic book and create their identity card.
- Present the future of the chosen character in a short text.
- Suggest a possible ending to the story discovered in the comic book, starting from the sequence with the cow and the bird in the meadow, in a short text.
- Collectively build a paper model of the comic book.
