The FastBooking Saga

In 2000, Thierry Lamblin had just convinced venture capitalists to fund his online booking software start-up. It was an international project, and he had to persuade thousands of hoteliers around the world of the relevance of the solution he was bringing them.

Episode 1 – The hotelier’s cyber-nightmare (French version — see the English version below)

At a time when the Internet was still a desert as far as video and multimedia were concerned, Thierry went looking for communication ideas on the Web… and stumbled upon a small showcase site, www.3toon.com (which had gone online a few months earlier). Immediately won over by the style of the animations and games he discovered there, he decided to get in touch with us.

After a long process of reflection (led with, among others, Jean-Louis Boss and Patrick Charby), we arrived at the project of a cartoon trilogy to launch a major direct e-mail marketing campaign — in five languages! This little bit of history to point out that today’s 3TOON would not exist without them…

E-mail Marketing Grand Prix - Best Rich Media Creation category

In 2001, the FastBooking trilogy received the E-mail Marketing Grand Prix in the Best Rich Media Creation category, and at the Narrowcast Content Awards it was nominated for Best Advertising Programme.

Storm over the weekend

The second episode of the FastBooking trilogy sets out this time to demonstrate the advantages of the solution for the hoteliers’ end customers.

Featuring a young couple trying to book a room in a hotel not equipped with FastBooking, we witness their torments… and their relief when they finally find a hotel offering them service worthy of the name, thanks to FastBooking 😉

The tour operator’s vertigo

The third episode of the FastBooking trilogy this time stars one last category of users of this booking software solution: tour operators.

Still in the same resolutely offbeat spirit, this final episode concludes the campaign that contributed to the success of one of the few start-ups of the 2000s to have genuinely come out on top, thanks to a solid product… and an effective communication operation…
