In May 2005, La Poste and its subsidiaries launched a vast multi-channel communication campaign. 3TOON was entrusted with the design and production of the gigantic e-mail marketing operation, covering a base of several hundred thousand business contacts.
The operation consisted in creating 4 cartoons, which would serve as a genuine B2B sales tool for La Poste’s sales forces.
The operation began with 3 episodes on the electronic solutions of its subsidiary Maileva. The episodes are in French — episode 1 is also available in English and Spanish (links below).

“Le courrier infernal” (That Darn Mail)
This first episode presents, simply and with humour, the advantages of the Maileva technology. For those not yet familiar with it: a fully automated, secure industrial processing chain that handles all your documents and letters, ordinary or registered, from printing to handover to the postal service, 24/7.
A two-minute cartoon, produced in 3 languages (French, English and Spanish). And another spectacular success in terms of campaign results.
Marc in search of the lost archive
To present its electronic archiving solution, Maileva used this second episode in a direct marketing campaign aimed primarily at chief financial officers.
A funny, spectacular animation designed to help trigger the emotional “shock” needed to reconsider a habit as deeply rooted as the way one archives documents.
A 2’30 cartoon — and a comic-book adaptation too!
Stéphanie and the cursed mailing
The third episode of the saga presents Maestra, a highly sophisticated direct-marketing solution, fully automated, online and on demand.
The many advantages of the solution are presented through a wild, exhilarating storyline.
A humour-filled way of setting out its strengths and assets, while offering the viewer a great moment of pure entertainment.
A 2’45 cartoon, also adapted into a comic book.
Marc discovers La Poste’s Electronic Registered Letter
In June 2006, it was La Poste’s turn to communicate directly under its own brand, to promote the electronic registered letter. Once again, Marc and Stéphanie, the characters of the Maileva saga, star in this “super-heroic” episode…
La Poste has plenty of arguments to convince people to switch to the electronic version of the registered letter. Here they are, condensed — with a good dose of self-mockery and knowing humour thrown in — in a 2’45 cartoon.
The comic-book album adaptation
The 32-page album (in French) was handed out in 6,000 copies at a trade fair (alongside the continuous screening of the animated series on the screens of La Poste’s stand). The boxes of comic books emptied at full speed — every visitor to the stand wanted to leave with a copy under their arm!
