3TOON has had the privilege of seeing several of its productions recognised by online communication professionals. A brief overview of the awards received by the studio…
When the time comes to choose a content-production partner, it is reassuring to pick a company whose work has been rewarded in competitions. It is natural for a producer to be fond of its own productions and speak of them in the best terms. It is far less trivial to see those productions recognised by juries made up of professionals from the sector — or even of potential clients.
In audiovisual and multimedia production, every programme is like a prototype, never seen and never made before. A brand that wishes to communicate through content will be glad to increase its chances of getting a high-quality production by entrusting it to a partner with a proven track record, whose excellence has been recognised by trusted third parties.
At the same time, those of you who have already entered competitions or festivals know how time-consuming that activity can be. So, despite the prestige that comes with an award, the 3TOON team only enters its productions in competitions on rare occasions.
We did so mainly when the brand was not yet well known, and again for the release of the series featuring Yannick Noah.
Clap d’Or 2017
Commissioned by the Apprentice Training Centre of Haute-Saône, the film “Léo, apprenti” was produced for the competition “Je filme le métier qui me plaît” (“I film the job I love”).
Designed to promote apprenticeships, the film won over the jury chaired by Costa-Gavras, and received the Clap d’Or.
Selected from among 614 competing films, the award was presented on the stage of the Grand Rex in Paris on 23 May 2017, in front of 2,600 students, teachers and school principals.
E-Marketing Awards 2009
At the Palais des Congrès in Paris, on 27 January 2009, during the trophy ceremony of the first e-Marketing Awards, the animated series “1 minute de pause” received a double award.
- The prize for best e-mailing campaign, awarded by a jury of professionals chaired by Brigitte Cantaloube, of Yahoo! France.
- The series also received a distinction in the same category, this time through the public vote, with a panel of 2,500 voters.
From left to right, Benoît Gourdon, co-founder of Neolane, prepares to hand the trophy to Violaine Meunier, co-founder of 3TOON, who delivers her acceptance speech under the gaze of Alain Laidet, General Commissioner of the E-MARKETING Paris Forum.

Digital Emmy Awards 2010
At the end of 2009, 3TOON entered the series “1 minute de pause“, produced for JM Bruneau, in the prestigious Emmy Awards competition.
The best of world production competes there, and the selection is particularly severe. The series was selected to take part in the competition, but did not receive an award… Only Brazil, Germany and England were honoured that year. We console ourselves with the thought that being selected was already a fine achievement.
Grand Prix de l’e-mail marketing 2001
In 2001, 3TOON’s very first production received an award. The FastBooking trilogy won the Grand Prix de l’e-mail marketing in the Best Rich Media Creation category — a trophy presented by the president of the jury, Alain Gosset, then Vice-President of the SNCD. The competition was organised by Web Marketing Europe and ABC Net Marketing.
The jury thereby recognised pioneering work: this was still the era of widespread low-bandwidth connections, and this marketing campaign in the form of 3 genuine Flash cartoons stood out, heralding a new form of communication far more ambitious than anything the Web had seen until then.
