A personalized film makes each viewer’s experience of it different and unique. The most striking example is the introduction of your avatar into the film, among the other characters.

A Hero in Spite of Yourself
PERSONALIZABLE EPISODE
To close the second season of the web series “La Webcam du Bureau” (The Office Webcam) produced for Bruneau, Ludovic Loy’s marketing team wanted to hit hard and leave a mark. In practice, that meant an exceptional episode which individually starred each of the thousands of JM Bruneau clients invited to watch it. Intriguing, isn’t it?
This episode also had the privilege of featuring Claude Giraud, the “official” French voice of Tommy Lee Jones, playing a man in black who pays a visit to the Vénus Détectives agency to entrust it with a very special mission…
The combination of a very clever script with, invisible in the background, a good dose of technology and programming, brought the season to a beautiful close.
If you are curious to understand the meaning of the title, and to see how the web can transform the customer relationship, watch the episode for yourself…

“Cosmos 2008” for OneDirect
Emmanuel Stern, founder of OneDirect, the leader in business telephony, asked us to produce a film for an exceptional greetings campaign celebrating the New Year 2008!
Working with him and marketing director Emmanuelle Tellier, we created the character of Ambassador One, who comes to present his best wishes in a spectacular, highly personalized fashion.
With the look and feel of a Hollywood blockbuster trailer, discover what a greetings campaign can become when made with humour, imagination and ambition!
Produced in 2008, this greeting card used Flash technology to achieve very advanced personalisation of the animation, to touch and involve the card’s recipient as much as possible.
After the Flash plugin was retired, it was no longer possible to enjoy the card’s interactivity. But in 2023, the 3TOON studio committed to bringing personalized animated cards back to life, and you can once again test the personalized version of the card with your own details! With, as a bonus, the narrator’s voice performed by the fantastic Gérard Dessalles!

The web series “1 minute de pause”
When the idea of a third season began to be discussed with the marketing director of JM Bruneau, the level of ambition was particularly high. In the discussions, among the innovations considered — such as the marked turn towards content marketing — emerged the idea of making the web series personalizable with the avatars of the office supplier’s clients.
3TOON then embarked on a long technical process to allow every viewer of this new season to project themselves alongside the characters of the Vénus Détectives agency in the form of a cartoon avatar. A tough challenge, because personalizing a series is far more complex than a simple card…
Mission accomplished a few months later: the 15-episode series was offered to all JM Bruneau clients — with, as a bonus, the presence of Yannick Noah, with whom their avatar could interact.
The possibilities offered by a personalized film
Once viewers engage in the personalisation process, immense possibilities open up. In the case of the “1 minute de pause” web series, all the episodes were accessible from a personalized URL, such as:
http://www.1mndepause.fr/violaine/meunier/3toon — no longer functional since the demise of the Flash plugin…
A web address that users could share with their colleagues and friends.
Besides watching the episodes with their avatar mingling in the action, visitors also had at their disposal 7 personalizable e-cards featuring their cartoon avatar.
They could also manage a whole gallery of different looks for their avatar, to use as the mood took them.
Finally, a community section let them interact with their friends’ avatars, and suggest alternative looks for them!
Added to the intrinsic qualities of the series, which had already been successful over the two previous seasons, all these innovations earned the series very extensive press coverage, and visibility out of all proportion to the brand’s previous communication operations. This makes the “1 minute de pause” example one of the most ambitious content marketing experiments in France.

Personalisation of 3D animated films for Salti
Flash technology allowed 3TOON to produce for Salti two greeting cards with extremely advanced personalisation, embedded in sophisticated 3D animation. The Flash animations have since been converted to video so you can get a glimpse of the result below.
The first film for Salti: Looking for Suzette
The communication department of the equipment rental company Salti wanted to send a New Year’s greeting card that would be absolutely spectacular and leave a lasting impression on its clients, suppliers and employees.
It contacted the 3TOON studio to commission a fully personalizable film, produced in computer-generated 3D. The concept: staging their construction machines in a playful, quirky way, in the manner of Pixar-Disney in the Cars films. A real technological challenge, put online a few days before the end of the year.

Personalising the e-card
The personalisation of the film was particularly advanced, and its integration into the 3D world delivered an experience unheard of in the field of greeting cards. You can view this exceptional production above, either in a version personalized for you, or converted to video and personalized, as an example, for the founders of 3TOON.

You can watch the client testimonial of SALTI’s communication manager, Arnaud Debersée, who gives a full assessment of the first e-mail marketing greetings campaign, by clicking this link (in French).
The second Salti card: Now Boarding!
For the second year running, Salti commissioned a highly personalizable, spectacular 3D New Year’s greeting card, to leave its mark on the minds of its clients, suppliers and employees.
For the 2014 greetings, the emphasis was placed even more on the personalisation of the card, which now integrated the faces of the sender and the recipient! The film was again produced in computer-generated 3D. The concept staged the world of construction machines in a playful, offbeat way, with characters treated in the manner of Playmobil toys. A real technological feat, put online a few days before the end of the year.
April Group – What is insurance?
With this cartoon produced by 3TOON, for the first time (back in 2001!), the viewer could choose the profession of the cartoon’s hero, whether it was a girl or a boy, and could also determine the character’s entire visual appearance.
A genuine production feat and a spectacular example of what makes online communication so specific.
In its original Flash version, the April Group cartoon was thus entirely interactive and personalizable. Now that the Flash plugin has vanished from the surface of the Web, we offer the cartoon in a non-personalizable version, compatible with all recent devices…
